An Indian Air Force aircraft has crashed after colliding with mountains in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to initial reports, the aircraft crashed in a mountainous and difficult terrain area. However, no clear information has yet emerged regarding the condition of the pilot or any possible loss of life.
According to media reports, rescue teams were dispatched to the crash site immediately after the accident, while an investigation is expected to begin to determine the causes of the incident.
No detailed official statement has yet been issued by Indian authorities regarding this accident.
It may be recalled that last November during an air display at the Dubai Airshow, an HAL Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident. The pilot was killed in the accident.
It is worth noting that during the previous months HAL Tejas aircrafts suffered numerous clashes during routine flights and take offs. This has been a major concern for Indian authorities and Air Force, creating doubts about its mechanics. The Indian Air Force was compelled to down the whole fleet of HAL Tejs for a comprehensive inspection.
The recent incident has occurred after that comprehensive and technical inspection, giving way to doubts about the inspection itself and its credibility.
