Islamabad: Prime Minister(PM) Shehbaz Sharif said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with a great victory in Operation Haq under the great leadership of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
Addressing the Ulema conference on Wednesday PM added that the prayers of religious scholars and the nation played a key role in achieving success against India.
The Prime Minister stated that under the leadership of the Field Marshal, the Pakistan Armed Forces gave a strong response to India, and the role of all three armed forces in the operation was commendable.
He urged religious scholars to fulfil their responsibilities in light of Islamic teachings and stressed that ending sectarianism is a pressing need of the time.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the country cannot progress without national unity. He added that national cohesion and unity are essential for the nation’s development and stability.
He also highlighted that terrorism continues to claim the lives of young people across the country, but the families of martyrs take pride in their sacrifices.
The Prime Minister warned that anyone who mocks the sacrifices of martyrs undermines Pakistan’s honor. He recalled that millions of sacrifices were made for the homeland.
Shehbaz Sharif said complete eradication of terrorism is essential for development, and that political and military leadership worked together to achieve economic success. He added that Pakistan’s friendly countries consider the victory against India as their own achievement.
Hard work, not black magic needed to make country prosperous
Prime Minister said the country is rapidly moving towards economic growth and stability, and that hard work day and night is the key to progress,
He noted that nations that achieve global recognition adopt hard work as their guiding principle not black magic.
Stressing the need for unity on national matters and said the economy, previously on the verge of default, has been stabilized. He also recalled that the country’s forefathers like Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal achieved independence through sacrifices.
