‘COOL IHRAM’ INTRODUCED

With Hajj season falling in the peak of summer, a “cool Ihram” has been developed to protect pilgrims from the heat.

Millions of Muslims travel to Saudi Arabia each year to perform Hajj. In recent years, the season has coincided with extreme summer temperatures, a trend expected to continue for the next few years. Two years ago, hundreds of pilgrims died due to the intense heat.

To protect pilgrims this time, Saudi Arabia has introduced a “cool Ihram” using advanced technology.

The Ihram is made with special fiber that reflects the sun’s heat, helping the body feel cooler.

These Ihrams will be provided to pilgrims by Saudia Airlines.
