Gwadar opens new route for global shipping

Gwadar: Gwadar Port has commenced marine fuel supply services for ships, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s maritime sector. NLC-Vitol supplied 2,500 metric tons of Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) to the UAE-owned LNG vessel ENUGU in the port’s first large-scale bunkering operation.

According to the company, the fuel supplied to the vessel was produced at SynergiCo PK Limited’s refinery and complies with International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.

The successful operation represents a major step forward in the development of Pakistan’s marine fuel supply and ship bunkering industry.

The development also comes at a time of rising geopolitical tensions in the region, positioning Gwadar Port as a reliable alternative refuelling destination for international vessels operating in regional waters.
