Web desk: The KP government has decided to construct a multi-million rupee grand KP House near the site of the former Monal Restaurant.
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has moved forward with plans to construct a new KP House at Makhniyal in Haripur District.
The total estimated cost is Rs500 million, with Rs250 million allocated for the current financial year.
The Administration Department has already issued directions for the preparation of PC-I and PC-Es to the relevant authorities. The Deputy Commissioner of Haripur has now been asked to identify suitable state land. Or other feasible sites for the construction work.
Senior officials in the Administration and C&W Departments have also been briefed about the project as part of the follow-up.
Copies of the communication have also been shared with the Chief Engineer (East) of the Communication and Works Department. And the Commissioner of Hazara Division, and the Executive Engineer of the C&W Division in Haripur.
The KP government plans to build a grand KP House worth millions of rupees near the former Monal Restaurant site. The current Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad is located in the F-5/2 sector.
It serves as the official residence and centre for the province’s political and administrative activities in the federal capital. The Chief Minister and other provincial officials use it during their stay in Islamabad.
In October 2024, the Islamabad High Court ordered the property to be de-sealed after police and CDA officers had forcibly entered and sealed it.
