Forest Swallowing Hotel Mafia in Kamrat: NOC Issued to 40 Illegal Hotels Out of 74, Forest Department Inquiry Indicates

Illegal constructions on forest land have been revealed in Kamrat, a tourist destination in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 47 out of 74 hotels and shops have been illegally constructed. These constructed illegal hotels and shops are being said to have also been issued NOCs to most of them. According to available documents, a total of 74 buildings have been constructed in Dindiri and Kamrat areas of Deer Kohistan Forest Division, of which 47 are located within the forest limits. Of these, 38 hotels are completely built in the forest, while parts of 2 hotels are located inside the forest and some outside. Also included are 3 general stores, a burger point, and an under construction hotel, while an under-construction building has been demolished. QUERY LENGTH LIMIT EXCEEDED. MAX ALLOWED QUERY : 500 CHARS On the other hand, Irfan, Director General of Kamrat Development Authority, took the position that the Chief Secretary has prevented all the authorities from issuing NOCs, and his authority has not issued any NOCs so far. According to him, the NOCs that have been issued are outdated and were issued in the past.
