WEBDESK: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, in Islamabad on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the talks covered regional security, counter-terrorism, and matters of mutual concern.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. They also agreed to enhance coordination at regional and international forums.
Wang Yi assured China’s continued support for Pakistan’s development and sovereignty. He also expressed China’s willingness to expand cooperation in mining, agriculture, and industry.
Field Marshal Munir thanked China for its consistent backing over the years and highlighted the importance of the all-weather strategic partnership.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and work for regional stability.
Earlier on Thursday Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a joint press conference in Islamabad that talks between the two countries had been successful.
They discussed long-standing relations, economic cooperation, regional stability, and the next phase of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to take Pakistan–China ties to new heights and further strengthen the partnership.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised China for its continued support of Pakistan’s regional sovereignty and integrity.
Speaking at the joint press conference, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that relations between Pakistan and China are friendly, brotherly, and based on trust.
