FIA, NAB uncover massive money laundering network linked to Malik Riaz

Web desk: Shocking revelations have emerged regarding Malik Riaz and Bahria Town’s involvement in hawala transactions. According to reports, the FIA and NAB conducted raids on Bahria Town offices and seized important records.

During the investigation, following the arrests of staff members, a large money laundering network was uncovered.

Sources said this network includes Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz, Shahid Qureshi, Malik Riaz’s secretary Khaleel-ur-Rehman, finance officer Amir Rasheed, director of accounts Fazal Abbas, Ata-ul-Mohsin, account officer Shafqat, main investor Mian Khurram Latif, and Nazim Khadim.

Investigators have reportedly found strong evidence of money laundering under the directives of Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz. According to reports, approximately PKR 24 billion was laundered between 2005 and 2015.

Between 2015 and 2025, around PKR 1 billion was reportedly laundered, while from 2016 to 2025, the figure rose to approximately PKR 158 billion.
The current evidence is linked to earlier NAB cases involving Bahria Town.

During the investigation, details of anonymous properties were also revealed, with a total estimated value running into hundreds of billions of rupees. Sources said that in the coming week, the FIA and NAB will carry out daily operations in this matter, and further details are expected to be made public.

NAB summons Malik Riaz’s family in money laundering inquiry

Previously, the bureau had summoned Malik Riaz’s son, Ali Riaz, along with four others. Summons notices have also been issued to Khalil-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Ishaq, and Aamir Rasheed Awan.

According to NAB, all the accused have been instructed to appear at the NAB Rawalpindi office at 10:00 AM on 26 August.

The investigation is being conducted under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010.
