Due to a shortage of aircrafts, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to suspend its flight from between Lahore to Paris.
The final direct flight will take off on Sept 17.
It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad and Paris would continue as usual.
Lahore to Paris flights just started from June 18.
Earlier this year, PIA resumed its European operations after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus, with flight PK-749 departing from Islamabad to Paris, carrying 330 passengers and 14 crew members.
According to airline officials, the new direct route was expected to benefit business travellers, tourists, and members of the Pakistani diaspora living in France and other parts of Europe. Direct flights are anticipated to reduce travel time and offer more convenient options for those flying between the two countries.
In November 2024, the European Commission and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) lifted the suspension on the PIA, which had taken place back in 2020 after a PIA plane crash in Karachi in 2020 killed nearly 100, followed by a scandal over pilot licenses.
