RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces have killed militant commander Amjad, who was considered the deputy to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Noor Wali, along with three other militants while foiling a cross-border infiltration attempt in Bajaur.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani security forces detected the movement of a group of militants attempting to infiltrate across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur District on the night between October 29 and 30, 2025.
The forces effectively engaged and thwarted the khwarij’s infiltration attempt. The ISPR further stated that as a result of precise and skillful engagement, four khwarij, including their leader Amjad alias, were killed.
“Killed khwarij commander Amjad, the deputy to khwarij chief Noor Wali and head of the Rehbari Shura of the Indian proxy ‘Fitna al Khwarij,’ was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies. The government had placed a bounty of PKR five million on him, as he was actively involved in numerous terrorist activities inside Pakistan while residing in Afghanistan,” the ISPR added.
It is pertinent to highlight that the leadership of Fitna al Khwarij, while based in Afghanistan, continues to orchestrate infiltration attempts into Pakistan — primarily to project an impression of domestic presence and to boost the diminishing morale of their militants in Bajaur and Mohmand amid effective security operations.
The ISPR once again reiterated that the Interim Afghan Government must take concrete measures to ensure Afghan soil is not used by khwarij proxies to perpetrate terrorism against Pakistan.
“This also validates our stance that Afghan soil is continuously being used as a safe haven by khwarij belonging to ‘Fitna al Khwarij’ against Pakistan,” the statement read.
“The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers,” it added.
A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the area. The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision ‘Azm-e-Istehkam,’ as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
