A joint operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Bannu and Lakki Marwat police in Sarai Naurang, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has resulted in the neutralization of two individuals suspected of terrorist activities.
According to official reports, the operation was carried out based on intelligence inputs suggesting that the suspects, identified as Muhammad Sohail alias Ahmed and Azmatullah alias Hafiz, were planning an attack on Nali Chak Road.
During the operation, an exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of the two suspects. Authorities recovered firearms, including a Kalashnikov and a 9mm pistol, along with a mobile phone and materials linked to a banned organization.
The suspects were reportedly involved in various alleged criminal activities, including attacks on law enforcement personnel and civilians. The CTD has confirmed that further investigations are underway.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of security forces to maintain law and order in the region. The Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has acknowledged the successful operation and praised the teams involved.
