WEBDESK: The Government of Pakistan has announced civil awards for ten leading figures in sports. These honours will be presented on Pakistan Day, 23 March 2026, in recognition of their hard work, dedication and outstanding achievements that brought pride to the country at the international level.
Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi, mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, and the late equestrian Malik Muhammad Atta will receive the Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
Former women’s cricket captain Sana Mir and Paralympic discus thrower Haider Ali will be awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
In addition, Hamza Khan (squash), Mohsin Nawaz (shooting), and Rashid Malik (tennis) will receive the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Shahzaib Rand (karate) and Muhammad Sajad (kabaddi) will be honoured with the Pride of Performance Award.
Earlier on 14th August Independence Day 2025, in a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the country’s civil and military leadership is honored with top national awards in recognition of their outstanding services.
Federal Ministers Attaullah Tarar and Ishaq Dar were honored with the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his services to the nation.
Field Marshal Asim Munir has been conferred with the prestigious Hilal-e-Jur’at for his exemplary service and leadership. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad was also awarded the Hilal-e-Jur’at. Meanwhile, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza were decorated with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
