Christmas

Christmas celebrations are taking place on Thursday in Pakistan and across the world as millions of Christians mark the birth of Jesus Christ.

In Bethlehem, Palestine, pilgrims are gathering at Manger Square to attend prayers and special ceremonies. In Vatican City, the Pope is delivering his traditional Urbi et Orbi blessing at St Peter’s Square, with worshippers arriving from different parts of the world. Churches across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia are holding special services, while Christmas markets, carol gatherings, and light displays are adding to the festive atmosphere.

In Pakistan, Christian communities in cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Faisalabad are observing Christmas with church services, prayers, and community gatherings. Churches have decorated their premises with Christmas trees and lights, and worshippers are offering special prayers for peace, prosperity, and national wellbeing.

Earlier, interfaith events held in Punjab and Sindh highlighted religious harmony and unity among different communities.

Meanwhile, authorities and community leaders have urged people to celebrate responsibly while following health and safety guidelines. Christmas, marked by both religious devotion and cultural celebrations, continues to stand as a symbol of peace, goodwill, and unity around the world.
