Web Desk: At least 14 people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were killed in a powerful explosion near Chaman Phatak , officials said, in one of the deadliest attacks in the provincial capital in recent months.

Women and children were also among those killed in the blast, which targeted a train near the busy railway crossing area. Several others sustained injuries, while emergency teams rushed victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Security officials immediately cordoned off the area after the explosion, and rescue workers launched relief operations amid fears that the death toll could rise further due to the severity of injuries suffered by some victims.

Meanwhile, hospitals across Chaman remained under medical emergency, with doctors, paramedics and additional healthcare staff called in to handle the influx of casualties.

Shahid Rind condemned the attack and described the killing of innocent civilians as a cowardly act of terrorism. He said authorities would ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

In addition, Mir Sarfraz Bugti continued monitoring the situation and directed officials to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured.

Security forces intensified patrols across sensitive areas of the city following the blast.
