The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has detained social media influencer Asad Nadeem Mughal, after the controversy of Ducky Bhai.

According to sources, he arrived from Sharjah on a private airline, and during immigration, his name appeared in the system, leading to his arrest.

Sources said Asad Nadeem was allegedly taken into custody over suspected links with “Ducky” and for promoting an online gambling app through social media.

Several influencers have already been booked in the online gambling case, which is under investigation by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.

Legal experts say that strict action against the promotion of online gambling is underway, and more arrests are likely.

Iqra Kanwal was also summoned by NCCIA in connection with an inquiry into the promotion of gambling apps.

At the time, in her statement, Kanwal said she is pregnant and due to give birth soon. “In this condition, she can’t appear before the NCCIA,” the reply noted, adding that doctors have advised she needs at least two months of recovery time.

The reply states that once she recovers, Kanwal is prepared to “fully cooperate with the investigation and provide all necessary records”. Her legal team has requested that she be granted at least two months before appearing in person before the agency’s investigators.
