Web Desk: Apple rolled out expansion of its artificial intelligence ecosystem, a redesigned Siri with set of new “Apple Intelligence” tools across its next-generation software platforms.

At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the company previewed updates coming to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27, signaling a deeper push into on-device and cloud-assisted AI.

Apple said its revamped Photos app now uses more advanced image models to enable sophisticated edits while preserving the authenticity of the original shot.

A new feature called Spatial Reframing allows users to adjust perspective by dragging within an image and previewing changes instantly. Drawing on spatial computing capabilities developed for the Vision Pro headset, the tool generates new visual elements only where perspective shifts occur, keeping the rest of the scene intact.

Additionally, an Extend option lets users widen an image’s frame, straighten horizons or modify aspect ratios without trimming key details. The upgraded Clean Up tool removes unwanted objects with more natural-looking results, even in complex backgrounds.

Meanwhile, Apple has embedded artificial intelligence deeper into Safari.

The browser can now automatically group open tabs by topic and sort new pages into relevant categories. A feature called Notify Me tracks selected web pages for updates and alerts users when changes occur, a tool aimed at monitoring product restocks or price adjustments.

In another addition, users can type a description of a desired browser extension, and Safari will generate a custom tool directly within the toolbar.

Password management has also evolved. Apple said its system can detect weak or compromised credentials and, with a single tap, navigate websites on the user’s behalf to update them with stronger alternatives, which it then securely stores.

Apple also upgraded Image Playground with a new generative model running on its Private Cloud Compute infrastructure. The company said the system keeps user data inaccessible to Apple and others while enabling the creation of highly detailed images, including photorealistic styles.

Users can refine visuals using text prompts or by selecting specific elements within an image to reposition or resize. The tool can also generate Lock Screen wallpapers and Contact Posters, with selectable aspect ratios tailored to each use case.

The Messages app now delivers contextual one-tap suggestions, such as creating reminders or notes based on conversation content. When contacts request photos, the app can surface relevant images by scanning keywords, locations and recognized faces within a user’s library.

Mail has gained expanded Smart Reply features that reflect a user’s writing tone and can interact with third-party applications to complete tasks.

For phone calls to businesses, a new feature called Call Context displays relevant stored details, such as reservation numbers or confirmation codes, directly within the Phone app. Apple said the feature operates entirely on-device and determines context based on the business being contacted, not the conversation itself.

Apple has also simplified automation through a tool that allows users to describe a desired Shortcut. The system then assembles the required steps automatically, and users can refine workflows with follow-up instructions.

In the Home app, AI-generated summaries provide concise descriptions of activity captured by security cameras. Users can search footage for specific events, such as package deliveries, while a new section highlights noteworthy clips.

Accessibility features have also advanced. Voice Control now recognizes descriptive references to on-screen elements rather than requiring precise labels. Accessibility Reader can deliver instant summaries and translations of text.

The system additionally suggests file and folder names based on content, while Genmoji Apple’s custom emoji generator now supports more refined outputs and editable prompts.

Apple said Apple Intelligence will be available on select devices, including the iPhone 16 lineup and later, iPhone 15 Pro models, iPads and Macs powered by M1 chips or newer, the Vision Pro headset, and recent Apple Watch models when paired with a compatible iPhone.

Some AI capabilities, including image generation, will carry daily usage caps. Those limits can be extended through iCloud+ subscription tiers, which also integrate Apple Intelligence features into compatible home camera systems.

With the latest updates, Apple is positioning artificial intelligence as a core layer of its ecosystem, embedding automation and contextual awareness directly into everyday tasks across devices.
