Cupertino, California – September 10, 2025. Apple has announced the release of AirPods Pro 3, the latest model of its popular wireless earbuds. The new version introduces improved sound quality, stronger noise cancellation, health monitoring, and longer battery life.

AirPods Pro 3 are available for pre-order today. They will reach stores on Friday, September 19.

Stronger Noise Cancellation

Apple says AirPods Pro 3 deliver the world’s best in-ear Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). The new model blocks up to two times more noise than AirPods Pro 2 and four times more than the first generation.

The improvement comes from a redesigned system with ultra-low-noise microphones, advanced computational audio, and new foam-infused ear tips. Together, they increase both passive and active noise reduction.

The earbuds also feature a multiport acoustic design that controls airflow and improves sound accuracy. Apple says the result is a wider soundstage, deeper bass, and clearer vocals.

Better Sound and Transparency

AirPods Pro 3 include an upgraded Adaptive EQ. The system adjusts sound in real time to keep music balanced across all genres. Vocals sound sharper, and instruments are easier to separate.

Transparency Mode is also more natural. Users can hear their own voice and surrounding conversations with greater clarity. This helps them stay aware of their environment without removing the earbuds.

Health and Fitness Features

For the first time, AirPods Pro 3 include a heart rate sensor. Users can monitor their heart rate during exercise directly through the earbuds.

The device connects with the Fitness app on iPhone, where users can track over 50 workout types. Apple says this feature is designed for people who want to combine audio with health tracking during activities such as running, cycling, or yoga.

Live Translation

AirPods Pro 3 also add Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence. The feature allows real-time language translation during face-to-face conversations.

Apple says the tool will help travelers and professionals communicate more easily, even if they do not share the same language.

Battery Life Improvements

Battery performance is also upgraded. With ANC enabled, AirPods Pro 3 can play audio for up to eight hours on a single charge.

This is a 33 percent increase over AirPods Pro 2. With the charging case, total listening time extends much longer, offering full-day use.

Design and Fit

The new design improves stability during physical activity. Apple says the earbuds fit more securely during running, high-intensity training, and yoga.

Multiple ear tip sizes are included, including a new foam-infused option that improves comfort and isolation.

Official Statement

“AirPods Pro 3 take a major step forward,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “They deliver fantastic sound, the best ANC of any in-ear headphones, improved fit, heart rate sensing, extended battery life, and Live Translation.”

Availability

AirPods Pro 3 are available for pre-order starting today. Sales begin on Friday, September 19. Apple has not announced a change in pricing compared to the previous model.

Background

Apple launched the first AirPods Pro in 2019. They introduced features such as silicone tips, ANC, and Transparency Mode. The second-generation model followed with improvements in audio and noise control.

With AirPods Pro 3, Apple adds health features, translation tools, and further advances in sound technology. The launch continues Apple’s strategy of making AirPods more than just audio devices, integrating them into fitness, communication, and everyday use.
