QUETTA: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has achieved another major breakthrough against drug smuggling, thwarting a significant attempt to transport narcotics worth millions of dollars.
According to ANF, an intelligence-based operation led to the recovery of drugs valued at 154.15 million US dollars. The force had been closely monitoring an international drug trafficking network operating in Panjgur.
Acting swiftly, ANF teams intercepted an LPG gas container on the M-8 Gwadar CPEC Road and conducted a detailed search. During the operation, officials seized 553.5 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) and 40 kilograms of heroin.

The seized narcotics carry an estimated value of 154.15 million US dollars in the international market. Authorities also arrested two members of the organised smuggling network, with cases registered against them.
Investigators revealed that the group, led by notorious smuggler Ali Jan, had been transporting drugs from Afghanistan through Panjgur to Turbat, Gwadar, and Pasni. The network allegedly smuggled large quantities of narcotics to Yemen, Tanzania, and other countries using speedboats and small vessels.
The syndicate had planned to hide the drugs in an LPG gas container truck and smuggle them from Panjgur to Gwadar before sending them abroad.
This operation is one of the largest land-based anti-drug actions carried out by ANF. Efforts are underway to track down additional suspects and facilitators involved in the network.

The ANF, adhering to its zero-tolerance policy, continues to conduct robust operations aimed at dismantling organised drug trafficking networks across the country.
