The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) thwarted a major drug trafficking attempt in Balochistan’s Kech district, recovering a huge consignment of narcotics worth an estimated $54 million.
According to officials, the operation was carried out on November 18, 2025, at around 5:45pm near Khalil Abad, close to Satellite Town, along the Panjgur–Turbat route. During the action, ANF personnel intercepted an unregistered Zamyad vehicle and arrested one suspect.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 222 kilograms of drugs, including 99kg of ice (methamphetamine), 50kg of opium, and 73kg of hashish.
ANF officials said the seized narcotics have an international market value of $54 million. The estimated values are:
- Ice (methamphetamine): PKR 25.74 million domestically; $26.12 million internationally
- Opium: PKR 7 million domestically; $24.75 million internationally
- Hashish: PKR 5.47 million domestically; $4.02 million internationally
Authorities said the smugglers were using fuel trade routes and commercial vehicles to transport drugs from Panjgur to Turbat. The arrested suspect has been taken into custody for further investigation, while efforts are under way to trace other members of the trafficking network.
ANF reiterated its commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking and disrupting narcotics supply lines across the country.
