Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir said on Tuesday that Indian backed terrorist organisations Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij were spreading anti-people and anti-development agendas in Balochistan to fuel violence and unrest.
“All necessary actions are being taken to pursue these terrorists and rid the province of this menace,” the field marshal said while addressing the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
The Field Marshal Asim Munir said in his address that Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, adding that the patriotic people of Balochistan are its true wealth.
He further said that the federal and provincial governments were working on development projects to improve the province’s socio-economic situation through a people-focused approach. He also emphasised the importance of realising the province’s extensive economic potential.
Chief of Army Staff also praised the positive role of civil society, especially in engaging and empowering the youth of the country. He stressed their crucial role in safeguarding sustainable development and confronting hidden political objectives for the long-term prosperity of Balochistan.
The Field Marshal asserted Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability. He warned that any direct or indirect violation of the country’s territorial integrity would face a definitive and forceful response to protect its citizens’ lives and security.
The workshop ended with an interactive question and answer session between the army chief and the participants.
