Web Desk: Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, raised concerns over his reported transfer to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), questioning official medical updates and urging that he be examined by independent doctors at a private hospital.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, she said the former prime minister was moved to PIMS in the early hours of June 15, adding that the family learned of the transfer through a post by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar.

She also rejected medical assessments issued by PIMS regarding his condition, alleging inconsistencies in previous reports. As an example, she referred to earlier claims about the restoration of Imran Khan’s eyesight, which she said were later contradicted by the former premier himself during a meeting with his legal counsel in Adiala Jail.

Aleema Khan questioned the need for multiple injections administered during treatment, asking why a fifth dose was reportedly required. However, she did not provide independent medical evidence to support the claim.

Meanwhile, she urged authorities to shift Imran Khan’s medical examination and treatment to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, stating that he should be treated by what she described as “independent and reputable doctors.”

In her statement, Aleema Khan also alleged repeated violations of a court order allowing family visits. She said a full bench had permitted six family members to meet Imran Khan every Tuesday, but claimed that access had been restricted over the past several months.

She added that her sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, had only been allowed a limited number of visits, with the most recent one taking place on December 2, 2025.

Furthermore, she said the authorities were using isolation and restricted access as a form of pressure, a claim that could not be independently verified.

Aleema Khan cited court directives and prison regulations outlining what she described as the former prime minister’s legal entitlements, including weekly phone calls with his sons, regular family and lawyer visits, access to reading material, television and newspapers, and medical care with prior family notification before procedures.

She also referenced a High Court full bench order allowing six family members and six lawyers to meet him every Tuesday, along with additional weekly meetings with friends and party representatives.

Concluding her remarks, Aleema Khan urged authorities to immediately restore what she described as Imran Khan’s legal rights as a prisoner. She reiterated her demand for access to independent medical care with family oversight, calling it a matter of urgent priority.
