Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), Asim Iftikhar, said on Thursday that Afghanistan has now become a safe haven for terrorists once again. He also said that there is solid evidence of TTP’s presence in Afghanistan.

Asim Iftikhar confirmed the presence of nearly 6000 TTP terrorists in Afghanistan. He showed concern that the rising terrorism from Afghanistan is severely dangerous for Pakistan. Asim Iftikhar praised Pakistan’s armed forces for struggling to wipe out terrorists from the region.

Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations also warned that if Afghanistan didn’t do anything to eliminate terrorism, Pakistan would surely take steps to do so.

He also said that all the plans to do terrorism in Pakistan have been made in Afghanistan.

While addressing the security council, Asim Iftikhar said that the Taliban have been in power for the last four years, adding that Pakistan was always ready to cooperate with the Afghan government. He urged that the war had ended and that all the Afghan refugees needed to go back to their country.
