In yet another incident of violence, the Afghan cricket fans misbehaved with a Bangladeshi fan during Asia Cup 2025.

Afghanistan was thrashed by Bangladesh in the crucial match yesterday, on September 16, 2025, in the 9th match of the Asia Cup 2025.

After the defeat, a video of a Afghan cricket fan went viral, where he was seen harassing and shouting at a Bangladeshi fan.

The Bangla supporter was wearing Pakistan team shirt. The Afghan fan asked him to not support Pakistan, “I will congratulate you if you stop supporting Pakistan”

Bangladesh win by 8 runs against Afghanistan

Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 8 runs in the ninth match of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 at Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Tanzid Hasan’s quickfire half-century set the tone for Bangladesh, while their bowlers combined well to seal the win. Batting first, Bangladesh posted 154 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Tanzid top-scored with 52 from 31 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes. Saif Hassan added 30 runs, while Towhid Hridoy chipped in with 26.

Jaker Ali and Nurul Hasan remained unbeaten on 12 each to boost the total. For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad took two wickets apiece, while Azmatullah Omarzai claimed one.

In reply, Afghanistan fell short, finishing at 140 all out on the last ball of the innings.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz led the chase with 35 off 31 balls, while Omarzai scored 30 and Rashid made a brisk 20. However, regular wickets kept Afghanistan behind the required rate.

Mustafizur Rahman starred with the ball for Bangladesh, taking three wickets. Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed and Taskin Ahmed supported with two wickets each.

With this win, Bangladesh moved to second place in Group B with four points from three matches, while Afghanistan suffered their first defeat of the tournament.

Afghanistan to face Bangladesh today

The Group B clash will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, starting at 8:00 PM IST, 6:30 PM local time.

For Bangladesh, this is a must-win game to keep their hopes alive for the Super 4 stage after losing to Sri Lanka.

Afghanistan began their campaign with a strong win over Hong Kong and will aim to strengthen their position at the top of the group.

In past Asia Cup meetings, Afghanistan holds a slight advantage, winning three of the five matches played against Bangladesh.
