The decision follows heavy rainfall in and around the Margalla Hills.

Officials said paths are slippery and small slides are possible. Rescue and forest teams are on alert near busy entry points.

Whereas, the notice was shared from the official account of DC Islamabad.

It asked hikers to avoid the closed routes and respect barriers. It also urged families to stay away from streams and nullahs.

Citizens should plan indoor activities and check updates from the district administration.

Weather conditions will be reviewed daily. Trails will reopen after safety checks and when staff confirm the risk has eased.

Similarly, people living near the hills are advised to secure vehicles and avoid parking at low spots.

In addition, visitors should carry ID and follow directions from police and CDA staff around trail gates.

Hikers may consider visiting open city parks in plain areas like F-9 Park and Lake View for light exercise.

Stay off steep slopes and muddy tracks. Keep phones charged and share your route with family. Report hazards to the helpline 15 or 1122.

Public advice and next steps

The closures aim to prevent accidents and keep rescue resources free for emergencies.

Islamabad has strong hiking culture and clean green spaces. Timely caution helps protect lives and keeps the city ready for visitors.
