The Ministry of Finance has announced new petroleum prices through a formal notification, reducing high-speed diesel and kerosene while keeping petrol at the previous rate across Pakistan.

Diesel price cut

According to the notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 3 per litre.

While the new price of high-speed diesel is Rs 269.99 per litre.

Furthermore, Diesel is widely used in transport and agriculture.

A small reduction can ease freight costs and support the farming season.

Kerosene reduced; petrol unchanged

Kerosene has been reduced by Rs 1.46 per litre.

After the change, kerosene is priced at Rs 176.81 per litre.

While the notification said petrol remains unchanged at Rs 264.61 per litre.

Holding the petrol rate steady provides predictability for daily commuters and small businesses.

Oil prices are reviewed on a regular schedule.

Whereas adjustments reflect movements in international markets and domestic taxes.

Consumers in urban and rural areas will track these changes closely.

Lower kerosene helps households that rely on it for cooking and heating, especially in off-grid regions.

Similarly, transporters and farmers are expected to pass some savings on to end users.

Any broader impact will depend on fuel consumption patterns and the cost of other essentials.

In addition, the finance and energy authorities will continue monitoring market conditions.

Further guidance is expected at the next scheduled price review.
