The Pakistan Army engineers has reopened road in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Additionally, the Pakistan Army engineers and other rescue teams are carrying out road clearance and recovery operations in Bishnoi, Batai, Gokand and Pir Baba.

The Pakistan Army remains committed to extending all possible support to the affected population.

The local people has widely appreciated the remarkable services of the Pakistan Army, especially the Engineer Corps.

Relief activities will continue until full restoration of communication links and return to normalcy.

Due to the floods in KP, 314 people died and 156 got injured, emergency has also been declared in the province.

It is pertinent to mention that Buner district alone has accounted for 209 deaths and 120 injuries, according to the report, with 36 dead and 21 injured in Shangla.

According to reports, a village in the Buner district has been wiped from the map after severe landslide and many people are still trapped in that area.

A total of 159 houses have been damaged, leaving many people “homeless”.

There is no electricity or mobile signal in Buner, as power lines and mobile towers were damaged.

Due to the condition of the area, tourists are advised not to go to the northern areas of Pakistan in this season.
