Rainy days ahead in Karachi till August 23

Thunderstorms are likely to hit Karachi in this week.

The rainy days in Karachi are expected to start from today (August 17) to August 23rd.

The Met Office said strong monsoon winds are entering parts of Sindh.

Rainy days coming up in Karachi, Lahore and other cities

Rain thunderstorm/rain with few moderate to isolated heavy falls is likely in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta, Tharparkar, and surrounding areas.

Moreover, isolated heavy falls are also expected in upper KP, Pothohar region and Kashmir.

It is pertinent to mention that the northern areas of Pakistan are already suffering from devastating landslides and floods.

Widespread rain-wind/thundershower (with scattered heavy falls at times very heavy) is expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad and Sahiwal from 17th to 19th August. with occasional gaps. Scattered rain-wind/thundershower (with isolated heavyfalls) is also likely in D.G. Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan from 18th to 20th August.

Farmers have been advised to plan agricultural activities keeping the weather forecast in mind.

Public, travellers and tourists are advised to avoid unusual exposure to vulnerable areas to avoid any untoward situation and keep updated about latest weather conditions.

Landslides may cause roads closure in the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir during the forecast period.
