President marks independence day with tribute to nation’s resolve against India

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the nation on Pakistan’s 78th anniversary and said that courage, discipline and wisdom were the keys to Pakistan’s recent success in responding to Indian aggression.

He stressed that Pakistan seeks peace, but has full capacity to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity by standing tall against enemies.

Independence Day message stresses Pakistan’s successful operations; ‘Marka-e-Haq’ and Operation Bunyān-e-Marsūs

The president said Independence Day reminds the country of courage, unity and sacrifice.

He paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the heros of the Pakistan Movement.

Referring to recent events, he called the ‘Marka-e-Haq’ and Operation Bunyān-e-Marsūs a golden chapter in national history.

According to him, success in these operations reflected unwavering resolve, exceptional professionalism and broad national unity.

President Zardari said Pakistan replied to India’s “unjustified aggression” with restraint, prudence and decisive strength.

“The world saw that Pakistan desires peace, yet will not compromise on sovereignty,” he said.

He added that the outcome of the  ‘Marka-e-Haq’ has given citizens new confidence, while Operation Bunyān-e-Marsūs has strengthened trust in national institutions and reinforced Pakistan’s international standing.

 He said Pakistan is viewed as a peace seeking state that does not bend under pressure.

Looking ahead, the president urged the nation to channel the same spirit into rebuilding and reforming agenda.  

He called for economic recovery, education reform, technological progress, institutional improvements and environmental protection, emphasizing on service delivery across every sector.

The message closed with a simple theme: when Pakistan is united, disciplined in action and wise in judgment, it prevails.

The president said that ethos should guide both national security and day-to-day governance in the year ahead.
