Lahore: In a recent passenger friendly move the Pakistan International Airlines has announced an immediate reduction in fares for Jeddah and Madinah.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the national airline has reduced fares to Jeddah and Madinah by 30%. The one-way fare from Karachi to Jeddah and Madinah has been reduced to Rs 8,300, including taxes.
The reduction in fares will take effect immediately.
Passengers travelling until September 30, 2026, can benefit from the reduced fares.
Discounted tickets could be purchased from offices of the airline, authorized travel agents, and the airline’s website.
It is worth mentioning that on March 30, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reinstated its flight operations to London after a hiatus of six years. This marks a major milestone in the history of PIA. The first flight, PK 325, left Islamabad International Airport for London with a full load of passengers.
In this connection a grand ceremony was held at Islamabad Airport before the departure of the flight. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of PIA Consortium, Arif Habib. The flight was attended by Secretary of Defence, Lieutenant General (R) Mohammad Ali, and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.
The inaugural flight ceremony also included a cake-cutting ceremony, and a lucky passenger won a 660 cc car through a raffle draw. Other passengers were also offered gifts as part of the event.
In his address to the gathering, the Secretary of Defence commented, “This flight will further strengthen the ties between the two nations and their peoples.” British High Commissioner Jane Marriott congratulated PIA for restarting its flights to London and highlighted the significance of the route.
