The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has said that uninterrupted electricity supply is being continued to more than 4.2 million consumers across its six operational circles, with no loadshedding being carried out during daytime hours.
IESCO also said that electricity is being supplied without interruption when the required power quota is by provided the National Grid. However, load management becomes inevitable during evening hours owing to increased demand for electricity increases.
According to IESCO, load management on any feeder does not exceed two to two-and-a-half hours within a 24-hour period. The company said load management is immediately suspended as soon as the required electricity quota is received from the National Grid.
IESCO further said that high humidity and a rise in electricity consumption contribute to increased pressure on the power system. Additionally, the high load has also resulted in an increase in feeder faults and transformer-related issues.
The company also clarified that temporary outages caused by feeder faults and transformer-related issues should not be attributed to load management. It said its operations staff is fully mobilized and alert to ensure timely and prompt response to resolution of complaints.
IESCO urged consumers to extend their cooperation in connection of avoiding unnecessary electricity consumption during peak hours. It added that its 118 helpline remains operational 24 hours for registration of electricity-related complaints.
