The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has brought some relief for people struggling with hot and humid weather, forecasting a fresh monsoon rains spell from August 27 in Islamabad and other upper parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, a new spell of rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected to begin in the federal capital from August 27. Strong winds are also likely during the rainfall.
The PMD has forecast hot weather in Islamabad over the next two days. The temperature may rise to as high as 36°C on August 26.
Overall, residents of Islamabad and the upper regions may receive temporary relief from the heat in the form of rainfall from August 27. However, people have been advised to remain cautious due to the possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms during the rain.
Hot and Humid Weather to Persist in Karachi, Lahore
Meanwhile, Karachi continues to experience hot and humid conditions, with a slowdown in sea breezes adding to the discomfort.
According to the Met Office, Karachi’s maximum temperature is expected to remain around 33°C today. Due to high humidity, the weather is likely to feel hotter and more humid. The current temperature has been recorded at 29°C, while humidity stands at 75 percent.
Southwesterly winds are blowing at around 12 kilometres per hour, while hot and humid conditions are expected to persist throughout the day.
In Lahore, the intensity of the heat also remains high. According to the Met Office, the current temperature has been recorded at 33°C. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 37°C today, while the minimum is likely to remain around 29°C.
Karachi, on the other hand, is expected to continue experiencing hot and humid conditions for now. The coming days could prove significant for weather conditions, with temperatures likely to rise in some areas while renewed monsoon activity in Islamabad and the upper regions could bring a change in the weather pattern.
