Azaad Digital has obtained the WhatsApp group chat of faculty members of Sarhad University from before the unpleasant incident that took place at the university, in which Dr. Aina was informing the members about the harassment she had allegedly faced.
According to details that have emerged regarding Sarhad University, complaints had been received from female students against Professor Jadoon, alleging that he also used to demand money from them.
According to sources, Dr. Aina reported these complaints to the university’s Vice President, following which the Vice President issued an order removing Professor Jadoon from his position. He was removed from his post on Friday.
Sources say that after being removed from his position, Professor Jadoon threatened Dr. Aina. Instead of informing her husband, Dr. Aina called the police emergency helpline 15.
On Friday, Dr. Aina lodged a complaint with the police, following which the police reached the scene. Dr. Aina also informed the Vice President that she was going to register an FIR.
According to sources, the university’s owner, Riaz, along with the Vice President, went to the police station and requested that an FIR not be registered against Professor Jadoon. According to sources, Professor Jadoon later apologized to Dr. Aina and also submitted a written apology.
Despite the threats being reported on Friday, no FIR was registered.
Over the weekend, when Dr. Aina reached home, she informed her husband, Colonel Asfandiyar, about the entire situation. According to sources, her husband tried to keep the situation under control at that time.
On Monday, a protest by pharmacy students was continuing at the university. Dr. Aina had been reappointed as the head of Student Affairs, and in that capacity, she went to the protest site to negotiate with the students.
According to sources, during this time, Professor Jadoon allegedly took advantage of the situation, harassed Dr. Aina, and pushed her. Dr. Aina immediately called 15 and also contacted her sister for her safety.
According to sources, Colonel Asfandiyar attempted to handle the situation in order to protect his wife’s dignity and safety.
Sources say that following the incident, Professor Jadoon went into hiding somewhere in Bannu, while a complaint against him was already pending at the police station.
