Web Desk: GWM’s Haval H6 GT PHEV has been unveiled in Pakistan, adding a performance-focused plug-in hybrid to the automaker’s local lineup.

The coupe-inspired SUV represents the highest-spec version of the H6 range and combines a sportier exterior with a more powerful hybrid powertrain and a larger battery than the standard H6 PHEV.

The model is already sold in several international markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Brazil and South Africa. Pakistan has now joined those markets.

According to comments by Sazgar Chief Operating Officer Ali Hameed to PakWheels, the H6 GT was initially developed with the Australian market in mind. An Australian engineer also contributed to its suspension tuning and development.

Under the hood, the H6 GT PHEV retains a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system. However, the GT delivers considerably more combined output than the conventional H6 PHEV.

The system produces a claimed 430 horsepower and 642 Nm of combined torque. By comparison, the regular H6 PHEV develops about 360 hp.

The performance figures also put the GT ahead of its standard sibling. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in about 4.58 seconds, compared with roughly 4.8 seconds for the regular H6 PHEV.

The powertrain comprises the turbocharged engine, a 67-hp front electric motor and a 63-hp rear motor. The petrol engine produces up to 152 hp and 240 Nm of torque.

The vehicle uses a 35.43 kWh battery, significantly larger than the approximately 19 kWh unit in the standard H6 PHEV. As a result, the GT claims an electric-only driving range of up to 183 km.

The battery supports AC charging at up to 6.6 kW and DC charging at up to 48 kW.

The H6 GT distinguishes itself from the regular H6 with a fastback-style body. Its roof slopes sharply toward the rear, giving the SUV a lower and more performance-oriented appearance.

At the front, Haval has fitted what it describes as a shark-bite grille, featuring a mesh pattern and angular openings. The exterior also relies heavily on gloss-black elements rather than chrome.

The black treatment extends to the wheels, window surrounds, roof rails and bumper details. Red brake calipers further reinforce the sporty character.

At the rear, the SUV features two spoilers, including a roof-mounted unit and a lower lip spoiler.

The equipment list includes LED headlights and tail lights, daytime running lights, front and rear fog lights, automatic windscreen wipers, electric headlight adjustment, a panoramic sunroof and a hands-free electric tailgate.

Inside, the H6 GT largely retains the dashboard architecture of the regular H6 but adds carbon-fiber-style trim to give the cabin a sportier feel.

The equipment package includes heated and ventilated front seats, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, a four-way electric passenger seat and a heated steering wheel.

A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster sits alongside a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV also offers a head-up display, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G connectivity and remote functions through a mobile application.

Other features include a nine-speaker audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, front and rear USB ports and rear passenger air vents.

However, the fastback design comes with a reduction in cargo capacity. The H6 GT provides 392 liters of luggage space, compared with about 600 liters in the standard H6.

Sazgar has not yet disclosed the official price of the Haval H6 GT PHEV in Pakistan.

The company is expected to announce pricing in the coming days or weeks, after which booking information and other launch details are likely to follow.

Until then, the H6 GT’s combination of 430 hp, all-wheel-drive electric assistance and a claimed 183-km electric range positions it as a more performance-oriented alternative to the standard H6 PHEV in Pakistan’s growing electrified SUV market.
