Bangladeshi model and actress Ridhika Ridhi was found dead at her residence in the Bashundhara residential area of the capital, Dhaka, on Saturday morning, following which police launched an investigation into the incident.
According to police, Ridhi was found in a critical condition at her residence at around 6 a.m. She was immediately taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors on duty confirmed her death.
Bhatora Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mazharul Islam confirmed the incident and said police reached the hospital after receiving information, where Ridhi’s body was present. He said the actress’s mother and other family members were at the police station at the time.
Police officials said that based on initial information, the incident appeared to be a suicide; however, an investigation was ongoing to reach a final conclusion. Proceedings to register a case based on the family’s complaint were also underway.
According to family sources, Ridhika Ridhi was in a relationship with a man. Police said the two had an argument over a video call on Saturday morning, during which Ridhi allegedly put an end to her life. Police are investigating every aspect of the case in order to reach the real cause of the death of the model.
