On the occasion of Independence Day, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a reception in honour of Pakistan Army veterans, which was attended by a large number of former officers and soldiers.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to the services and sacrifices of veterans for the defence and stability of the country. He also acknowledged their role in strengthening national stability.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said that the experience, guidance and continued association of veterans with the Pakistan Army are valuable assets for the institution. He said their guidance is extremely important in dealing with the changing security environment.

According to ISPR, the veterans expressed full confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed their commitment to continued support for the armed forces in dealing with emerging security challenges. They also expressed their resolve to continue playing their role in promoting national unity, peace, stability and prosperity.
