Security forces conducted an operation against militants in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing seven Fitna al-Khawarij militants, while Captain Hamza of the Pakistan Army was martyred in an exchange of fire.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence about the presence of militants in the area. Security forces effectively targeted their hideouts, while the militants attempted to take shelter inside a mosque during the operation.

Seven militants were killed, and a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession. During the intense exchange of fire, 27-year-old Captain Hamza fought bravely and was martyred. He belonged to Narowal and was leading his troops while pursuing the militants.

According to ISPR, the slain militants were involved in multiple attacks against security forces and the killing of civilians. A clearance operation is continuing in the area to eliminate any other militants who may be present.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over Captain Hamza’s martyrdom and paid tribute to his courage, bravery and devotion to duty. He said the nation would never forget the sacrifices of its brave sons.

The prime minister reaffirmed that operations against Fitna al-Khawarij would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated, adding that the sacrifices of the armed forces and law-enforcement agencies would not go in vain.
