Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has criticized PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, accusing her of making statements for political purposes that were amplified by Indian media.

He said her remarks had sparked widespread public anger and stressed that disrespecting the state for political gain was unacceptable.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, Tarar said that Pakistan’s existence was the foundation of everything, adding that no political party, leader, or individual held significance without the country. He claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s politics of negativity had already been rejected, while issues faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had never received the attention they deserved.

The information minister alleged that certain elements were attempting to tarnish Pakistan’s image for political objectives. Referring to Noreen Niazi’s remarks, he said history would remember those who spoke against the country, adding that anyone who tried to harm or defame Pakistan had ultimately faced disgrace.

Tarar further said that those who betrayed Pakistan and sought to damage its reputation had always met failure and humiliation. He insisted that the matter would not end there, saying those responsible would have to answer for their actions and apologize to the nation as well as the families of the country’s martyrs.

He also criticized what he described as a growing trend of making controversial remarks about Pakistan’s fallen soldiers. Tarar urged people to speak with the families of martyrs to understand the sacrifices made, saying no price could ever compensate for a mother sending her son to defend the country with prayers for martyrdom. He described such attitudes as deeply condemnable.

The minister reiterated that insulting the state for political purposes was unforgivable. He alleged that Noreen Niazi’s intention was defame the state for political motives.
