Web Desk: National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued a notice to Noreen Niazi, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, seeking an explanation over remarks that drew criticism for allegedly targeting the Pakistan military and praising Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the notice and official statements.
The notice directs Niazi to submit a response regarding her statements and instructs her to appear before the relevant authorities on the scheduled date as part of the inquiry.
The development follows widespread criticism of Niazi’s remarks concerning the Pakistan-India conflict. Political figures and social commentators have condemned the statements, describing them as controversial and inappropriate, while debate over the remarks has continued across social media and political circles.
Meanwhile, Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari criticized Niazi’s comments, saying they reflected the thinking of her brother, Imran Khan.
In a statement, Bukhari alleged that the Khan family “takes issue with every success of Pakistan.” She further claimed that the international community had acknowledged Pakistan’s military performance during its conflict with India and described Niazi’s reported remarks in favor of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “shameful and condemnable.”
Bukhari also launched a personal attack on Imran Khan and his sisters, questioning their judgment in strongly worded remarks.
The NCCIA has not publicly disclosed further details of the inquiry or any potential legal action. Niazi has not publicly responded to the notice at the time of publication.
The case has added to the political controversy surrounding public commentary on national security and Pakistan-India relations, an issue that continues to generate sharp divisions in the country’s political landscape.
