Web Desk: Security forces have killed 75 terrorists in a series of counterterrorism operations across Balochistan since July 5, including 39 during an ongoing operation launched after an attack on a police station in the province, according to security sources.

The military, Frontier Corps (FC) and Balochistan Police are continuing “Operation Shabaan,” a joint campaign launched following the terrorist assault on Mangi Dam Police Station. The operation is focused on clearing terrorists from remote mountainous areas, the sources said.

Security sources said forces killed 13 more terrorists over the past 24 hours through coordinated ground and aerial operations, raising the death toll in Operation Shabaan to 39.

The operation remains underway as security personnel tighten their cordon around suspected terrorist hideouts in difficult terrain.

Separately, terrorists launched another attack early Friday on a police station in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district. Security forces repelled the assault, according to the sources.

Officials said rapid response teams from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps killed eight terrorists during the exchange of fire. They added that helicopter operations may have killed another five to six suspected terrorists, although those figures have not been independently verified.

According to security sources, Operation Shabaan and other intelligence-based operations conducted across Balochistan since July 5 have resulted in the deaths of a total of 75 terrorists.

The military has not yet issued an official statement detailing casualties among security personnel or civilians during the recent operations.

Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist attacks in Balochistan and neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past two years. Security forces have intensified intelligence-led operations targeting terrorist networks operating in remote border regions.
