Pakistan has blocked access to the Afghan Taliban-linked online media platform Al-Mirsad, which authorities say was involved in spreading anti-Pakistan propaganda.

Al-Mirsad is an online media and propaganda platform believed to operate from Afghanistan. It published content in Urdu, Pashto, Dari, Arabic, English, and Bengali.

The platform’s Urdu channel regularly published content related to Pakistan, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Afghan Taliban, and the regional security situation.

According to sources, the blocking of the website in Pakistan is being viewed as part of broader efforts to curb anti-Pakistan propaganda on social media and online platforms.

Recently, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR) at the University of Lahore unveiled the true face of “Al-Mirsad,” exposing it as a propaganda arm of the Afghan Taliban’s intelligence. According to its in-depth investigation the platform operates as a sophisticated tool for information warfare, designed specifically to destabilize Pakistan through AI-driven narratives, religious distortion, and fueling ethnic unrest.

Besides, an analytical report published by The Durand Dispatch – Strategic Messaging has analyzed the objectives of Al-Mirsad, terming it as part of a strategic communication tool working for Taliban authorities in Afghanistan.

A comprehensive and objective report authored by Joey Moran, analyzed 137 articles published between January 2025 and March 2026. It argues that Al-Mirsad operates not as an independent media outlet but as a coordinated tool designed to legitimize Taliban regime.

It also argues that the outlet frames Pakistan as a sponsor of regional instability while presenting Afghanistan’s authorities as acting in self-defense against cross-border threats.
