New Central Contract Format and Payment Mechanism Also Approved

Web Desk: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has approved a major increase in financial incentives for national and domestic cricketers.


According to details, the 84th meeting of the PCB Board of Governors was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi.


The meeting approved the surplus budget for the 2026–27 financial year as well as the budget for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).


The Board also approved granting administrative and financial autonomy to the PSL.


The domestic cricket budget was increased by Rs1 billion, raising it from Rs3 billion to Rs4 billion.


A new central contract format and payment mechanism were also approved during the meeting.


The Board approved an increase in match fees for Pakistan national team players.


The match fee for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy players was increased from Rs30,000 to Rs100,000, while the match fee for reserve players was raised from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000.


Funds were also approved for the organization of women’s One-Day and T20 tournaments.


The meeting approved a minimum monthly salary of Rs42,000 for regional ground staff. Funds were also allocated to make 12 additional grounds operational and to strengthen human resources.


The Board approved the allocation of Rs6.7 billion for the upgradation of the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi and other cricket infrastructure projects.


Funding was also approved for the installation of a biomechanics machine at the High Performance Centre in Lahore, while the decisions taken in the previous Board of Governors meeting were formally ratified.


PCB Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza briefed the Board on the key features and figures of the 2026–27 budget.


Board members Anwar Ghani, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Ismail Qureshi, Sajjad Khokhar, Tanveer Ahmed, Adnan Malik, Zaheer Abbas, Additional Secretary Cabinet Division Mir Hassan Naqvi, and other officials attended the meeting.


PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, and all directors also participated in the session.
