Web Desk: Interior Ministry has ordered authorities across the country to arrest undocumented Afghan nationals starting July 10, marking the latest step in the government’s nationwide campaign against illegal foreign residents.
The ministry issued a formal notification directing all four provincial governments and the Islamabad administration to begin enforcement against Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan without valid visas or legal documentation.
According to the notification, all undocumented Afghan nationals will face immediate arrest from July 10, 2026, if they remain in Pakistan without valid immigration documents or visas.
The ministry instructed chief secretaries, inspectors general of police and the Islamabad administration to strictly implement the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP), which serves as the government’s framework for identifying, detaining and repatriating undocumented foreign nationals.
Moreover, the notification emphasizes that authorities must ensure uniform implementation of the directive across all provinces and the federal capital.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry introduced a daily monitoring mechanism to track the enforcement campaign.
Beginning July 11, provincial administrations and law enforcement agencies must submit daily reports to the ministry detailing arrests and other actions taken under the repatriation plan.
The notification describes the arrest of undocumented Afghan nationals as a high-priority government directive, underscoring Islamabad’s focus on enforcing immigration laws.
As a result of the directive, authorities are expected to launch a large-scale nationwide operation targeting undocumented Afghan nationals after the July 10 deadline expires.
The latest order reinforces Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to implement its policy on undocumented foreign nationals through coordinated action by provincial governments, police authorities and the federal administration.
