Web Desk: A strong earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale shook Islamabad and several regions across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the Seismological Centre, the epicenter was located at a depth of 230 kilometers.
The sudden tremors caused widespread panic among residents, prompting lawmakers in the federal capital to abruptly vacate assembly halls. Affected areas include Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal in Punjab, alongside several districts in KP, such as Peshawar, Swat, Kohat, Lower Dir, Mardan, and South Waziristan. Details on damages or casualties are still awaited.
