In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, differences within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have not been resolved, and the disgruntled members have decided not to attend the parliamentary party meeting. They will hold a separate meeting instead.
According to private TV channel “Express News,” PTI’s disgruntled members in the KP Assembly have called a consultative meeting regarding the budget session. Their dissatisfaction has not ended, and they have decided that they will review the budget before making any decision.
According to sources, a parliamentary party meeting of government members has been called at 2 PM in the assembly, which will also be attended by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
Sources further said that the dissatisfied government members have decided not to attend the parliamentary meeting and will hold their own consultative meeting at the same time in Peshawar. According to dissident member Mushtaq Ghani, if the budget is prepared in line with the vision of founding chairman Imran Khan, they will review it and decide through consultation.
It is worth noting that the dissent law makers in KP assembly had raised their concerns over the expansion of the KP assembly and the evident examples of nepotism in appointment of ministers.
