Web Desk: European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas arrived in Pakistan on Monday for an official visit aimed at strengthening engagement between Islamabad and Brussels on a range of bilateral and regional issues.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Upon her arrival, Kallas was received by Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking the start of what officials described as an important diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and the European Union.

The visit underscores continued efforts by both sides to deepen cooperation in areas including political dialogue, trade, security and regional stability.

Although officials have not released a detailed agenda, discussions are expected to cover key aspects of Pakistan-EU relations, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The European Union remains one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners and a significant development partner. Consequently, the visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to review ongoing cooperation and explore avenues for further collaboration.

The visit by the EU’s top foreign policy official comes as Pakistan seeks to expand diplomatic outreach with major international partners and strengthen economic and strategic ties with global stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the European Union continues to engage with countries across South Asia on issues ranging from economic cooperation and connectivity to security and climate-related challenges.

Kallas’s meetings in Islamabad are expected to reinforce the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the European Union while providing fresh momentum for future cooperation.
