Differences have emerged in the parliamentary party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, while Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has also called a meeting of the parliamentary party.
According to sources, after the expansion of the cabinet by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, reports of dissatisfaction among members of the ruling party surfaced, which have become a cause of concern for him ahead of the budget. However, he has now called a meeting of the parliamentary party.
Sources said that following reports of contacts among members, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has called the parliamentary party meeting and all members have been instructed to ensure their participation.
Sources further stated that the Chief Minister and ministers have also contacted dissatisfied members and invited them to attend the meeting.
It was also reported that before the parliamentary party meeting, dissatisfied members have called a consultation meeting among themselves. The emergence of a group of unhappy members ahead of the budget has become a challenge for the Chief Minister, and the independent status of PTI members in the assembly may become an issue for the dissatisfied group.
Sources further said that a message has also been conveyed to the dissatisfied members that if they try to create difficulties for the government, obtaining party tickets in the next election will become difficult. A government minister claimed that all members will express confidence in the Chief Minister during the parliamentary party meeting.
