A significant development has emerged regarding the proposed agreement between the United States and Iran.
According to the American website Axios, President Donald Trump has requested multiple amendments to the initial draft of the agreement reached with Iranian negotiators.
An American official speaking to Axios said that President Trump is interested in reaching a deal, but he wants the clauses related to Iran’s nuclear program to be made stricter and more clearly defined.
The official stated that Trump reviewed the draft during an important meeting held in the White House Situation Room and directed that it be revised.
According to the report, President Trump is particularly seeking further clarification on the future of Iran’s enriched uranium, its stockpiles, and the possible mechanisms for its transfer.
The American leadership believes these points should be included in a much clearer form in the final agreement so that there is no room for ambiguity later.
The American official also said that President Trump wants changes in the wording of certain clauses related to opening the Strait of Hormuz and restoring maritime traffic. He believes the terms of the agreement should be stronger and more enforceable.
According to the report, the proposed amendments from the US side have been sent to Iran, and Tehran is expected to respond within about three days.
Sources say that if both sides agree on the disputed points, the deal could be finalized within a week or even less.
Observers note that if this agreement is finalized, it could become the most significant diplomatic breakthrough between the US and Iran after recent tensions, although issues related to the nuclear program and regional security still remain under negotiation.
