Chinese automobile manufacturer GAC Group has officially entered the Pakistani market by holding a brand and vehicle launch ceremony in Karachi in collaboration with Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC), marking a significant milestone in automotive cooperation between the two countries.
At the event, four vehicle models were unveiled for the first time, while the “GAC Pakistan Action Plan,” a long-term strategy focused on local development, was also officially launched.
President of GAC International, Wei Haigang, said that GAC follows a long-term development philosophy and is implementing its “In Pakistan, For Pakistan” strategy, under which comprehensive planning is being carried out in products, sales channels, after-sales services, and the mobility ecosystem. He added that GAC will introduce several new energy vehicle models for right-hand-drive markets, including Pakistan, over the next five years.
LMC CEO Muhammad Faisal said that the bilateral cooperation is built on a highly aligned foundation. He noted that this partnership, driven by innovation and growth, will effectively promote the advancement of the local automotive industry.
LMC Chairman Muhammad Ali Tabba said that industrial development, long-term investment, and global partnerships are key drivers of sustainable growth. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation in enhancing local industrial capabilities and strengthening the mobility ecosystem.
During the ceremony, GAC International Vice President Wang Shunsheng handed over the keys of a new vehicle to GAC’s first customer in Pakistan. He revealed that GAC has introduced four core models in the local market: the Hyptec HT, Aion V, Aion UT, and Aion ES.
Wang said that the company’s diverse and structured product portfolio—from premium flagship vehicles and family travel models to modern, stylish cars for young consumers and practical sedans—can fully meet the diverse and personalized mobility needs of local customers.
To improve customer convenience and after-sales experience, GAC has established multiple branded showrooms in Pakistan’s three major cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. In partnership with LMC, the company plans to further expand its offline outlet network to provide more accessible and professional services to local consumers.
As a symbol of their deep partnership, representatives of both sides jointly planted a commemorative tree at the local plant. The gesture reflects their commitment to further developing and expanding in Pakistan’s local market, increasing their business influence in South Asia and global right-hand-drive markets, and achieving sustainable growth based on mutual benefit.
Wang noted that GAC’s official launch in Pakistan coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. He said the launch represents not only a major step in GAC’s international expansion but also a practical expression of the enduring friendship between the two countries. He added that GAC will continue to pursue its “In Pakistan, For Pakistan” localization strategy, deepen its local presence through a complete industrial-chain ecosystem, and provide Pakistani consumers with low-carbon, environmentally friendly, and innovative mobility experiences.
