Web Desk: A private developer and DHA City Karachi have signed a formal agreement to construct what Pakistan’s tallest building, a 82-storey tower named “Burj-e-Quaid,” marking a major addition to the city’s skyline and urban development plans.
The planned skyscraper will rise 941 feet and will be built on approximately six acres of land, according to project details announced on Sunday. Authorities said the project has received the necessary no-objection certificate (NOC) permitting construction up to the approved height.
Officials set a six-year completion timeline for the development, which will be executed under the supervision of international architects, engineers and consultants engaged by the private construction firm.
Project stakeholders said the tower aims to introduce a new phase of high-rise development in Pakistan, with a focus on modern architectural design and mixed-use urban infrastructure.
They added that the initiative is expected to encourage investment and expand commercial activity in Karachi, which remains Pakistan’s financial hub.
Furthermore, planners described the project as a step toward aligning the city with global metropolitan standards, particularly in terms of vertical urban growth.
Authorities involved in the agreement said the development would contribute to broader efforts to modernize infrastructure in the country’s largest city.
However, they did not immediately release detailed information on financing, tenant structure or specific commercial components of the project.
Construction is expected to proceed in phases over the coming years, with oversight from regulatory bodies and technical experts to ensure compliance with approved plans.
If completed as planned, Burj-e-Quaid would become the tallest structure in Pakistan, symbolising a shift toward large-scale vertical development in Karachi’s rapidly expanding urban landscape.
