Anti-Pakistan policy backfires, India faces global diplomatic strain: ex-RAW chief

⏱ 2 minute read
Former RAW chief AS Dulat

Former head of India’s intelligence agency “RAW,” A.S. Dulat, has made an important admission regarding Pakistan, stating that India’s efforts to isolate Pakistan in the world are not succeeding, and instead, as a result of this policy, India itself is facing diplomatic difficulties.

In an interview given to a British broadcasting organization, A.S. Dulat said that the old narrative against Pakistan is no longer effective, and in the changing regional situation, Pakistan’s role is becoming more important. He clearly said that Pakistan will neither break nor disintegrate.

According to the former Indian intelligence chief, at present Pakistan is emerging in an important diplomatic role such as mediation between Iran and the United States, while India should have played such a role in the region. He said that this situation shows that Pakistan’s diplomatic importance cannot be ignored.

A.S. Dulat also termed negotiations essential for resolving the Kashmir issue. He said that dialogue between Pakistan and India should never be stopped because war and tension are not the solution to any problem.

It is worth remembering that earlier RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale had also supported continuing talks with Pakistan. Later, former Indian Army Chief General Manoj Naravane also said that the problems of the people of both countries are the same and should be kept separate from political disputes.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah also called the statements emerging in Indian circles regarding talks with Pakistan encouraging, saying that war is not a solution and all disputes can only be resolved through dialogue.

In his statement, he supported the stance of RSS leader and former Indian Army Chief regarding talks with Pakistan, saying that at last someone has admitted that war is not an option. He stressed that a lasting solution to problems is only possible through negotiations.
